Petland Miami Donates Food to K-9 Unit

On October 10, 2019, multiple police departments across the county received a wonderful treat for their K-9 units with our delicious, nutrition-balanced dog food donation!

The donation took place at our Pembroke Pines location, where law enforcement came with their K-9 dog, and introduced themselves to our staff. As explained by the commander of the K-9 team, K-9 dogs have various duties besides detecting and apprehending threats.

The commander and his team typically bring their four-legged workers to community events and educate the public on what they do. These dogs are trained to search and detect several types of threats, such as bombs and narcotics. Outside of work, they’re relatively calm and peaceful dogs that enjoy meeting other people.

By introducing the K-9 team to the community, people have a better understanding of what enforcement dogs are capable of. They may also learn to view these animals as an extension of the law enforcement team, rather than as vicious dogs portrayed on TV and movies.

We at Petland Miami appreciate the amount of hard work and dedication the K-9 dogs display when keeping our communities safe. We hope our food donation exhibits our support for K-9 units and law enforcement departments—and that these doggies have a yummy meal for months to come!
