Here’s a quick and easy treat to take on your puppy adventures!

Soft Peanut Butter Carrot Dog Treats

Ingredients:

• • 1 cup of natural creamy peanut butter

• • ¾ of skim milk

• • 1 large egg (or ¼ cup of unsweetened applesauce)

• • 1 large carrot (around 2/3 cup shredded)

• • 2 ¼ cups of whole wheat flour

• • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

• 1/3 of oats (either whole rolled or quick oats work too)

Instructions:

• • Preheat your oven to 325 F.

• • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

• • In a large mixing bowl, mix the peanut butter, milk, egg and carrot together.

• • Add the flour and baking powder.

• • Knead the dough on a flat and floured surface (the dough will be extremely thick and heavy).

• • Carefully mix in the oats.

• • Use a rolling pin that is floured to rollout the dough into ¼ of thickness.

• • Cut it into the shape you desire with a cookie cutter.

• • Arrange the dough on the baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until they are golden.

• • • Carefully remove from the oven, and flip the treats to bake the other side for 10 more minutes.

• • Remove your treats from the baking sheet and allow them to completely cool down before serving them to your puppy (can be stored for up to 1 week).
